Update

I sat down to play really late on friday night and won the 2.5 bi's I had to make to move up to 3-6. I'm basically not going to cash out on full tilt for a while and move up when I have 20 bi's. 8k for 2-4, 12k for 3-6, 20k for 5-10... etc. I'm really hoping to get up to 5-10 and 10-20 in the next few weeks. It all depends on how hot i run. I lost 1k when I played in the afternoon today. It was my first losing day in a while... Not really sure what I will set as a bi loss stop. I will prob degen it out at 3-6 even if I start to lose. I know I am realy +ev in the game so I just need to put in a lot of hands. I'm still not sure how I can handle 5-10 so we will see.

Tilted by Full Tilt's Software

I have been playing on full tilt the last few days. I am tilted by their software because I have had trouble keeping up with the amount of tables I'm usually comfortable with. Timing out making big value bets and such. Its pretty frustrating but I can only blame myself for having to many tables open, talking on AIM, and surfing firefox. I just dropped down to 7 tables and that has given me the proper time to make decisions. I will probably look to ad the 8th table back in a week or so when I'm completely comfortable at full tilt. So my first few days on full tilt I tilted pretty hard and was playing pretty bad but I was lucky to basically break even. Yesterday I won 9 bi's... and today I lost 3. Overall on full tilt I have played just under 6k hands and I'm up about 8 bi's. So far all my hands have been at 2-4 but I should start getting my feet wet in the full tilt 3-6 game soon. Probably later this weekend once I'm properly rolled on there. Today I only had one class so I was able to have a very lazy afternoon :)

I should be updating each day this weekend as I intend to play a lot of poker.

I almost forgot to mention that I lost my MSNL HU match v. bobbofitos. Overall I ran really bad after the money got in. My Pokertracker didn't track any of the hands but bobbo posted most of the major hands here.

I'm Running Really Hot (January Recap)

Got out of bed this morning to play some hands before I went to school. Played 600 hands to clear a final 100k fpp bonus on stars. I made $1200 which was a bit disappointing after I was up 3k after 200 hands. I cant really remember the last time I sat down and had a losing session.. Aka I'm running at god status. I am up like 17kish in my last 10k hands. I have been playing little 500 hand sessions whenever I get a free hour or w/e during the day. Lately I have been averaging about 1k hands a day which I'm happy with now that school is in session. I'm glad I finally got rid of all my fpp's on stars. I just transfered 20 bi's for 2-4 to full tilt. I'm basically going to grind up a roll on there and try and get into some bigger games. Most of 2007 I was worried about $/hr since I knew I couldn't beat the higher games like I did before party poker closed out to American players. So last year I was able to save enough money so that I will never go busto. This year I'm going to make a real attempt to climb up the stakes aggressively. I am very confident with my game right now... at the same time I know I have a ton to learn. In the next few weeks I am really going to put in the time watching Cardrunners videos, posting strategy on 2+2, going over my hands after every session. I may also look into getting a high stakes coach. My screen name on full tilt will be PrincePullen. I just hired an assistant which will be nice. Hopefully that will free up a little extra time to play poker. I will also post pictures of my new dog later this week.

Heater

Just got done playing for the first time in a few days today. I felt like I made a bunch of mistakes and overall I wasn't to pleased with my play. I played 1500 hands and won +2200. Just pretty standard running hot. nothing to crazy.

Here are some hands from my session that I saved. I need some advice on the best way to post hands on this blog. I have tried a few different converters... just sort of seeing what you guys like best. Anyway here are the hands I saved from today.

EDIT: just realized that the hand history converter I used doesn't show the suits on the hands I posted. I might try to fix this later

Huge Day Yesterday

I am just sitting down to start a session. I thought I should post because I played about 3k hands last night after I posted. Finished the day up 6k. I won 11 bi's at 3-6 and lost a bi at 2-4. Its nice to get hot at the end of the month as I haven't ran particularly well so far. I guess my tourney score at the beginning of the month makes up for running bad in cash so far. I am closing in nicely on my January goal of making $30k... looking to surpass it with a few days remaining.

Focused

Things are going well grinding cash the last few days. I had two small winning days on Monday and Tuesday. Took Wednesday off from poker. Yesterday I played well during an afternoon session but booked a 3k loss. I wasn't to worried about the loss earlier in the day and came back to play a late night session. I ended up grinding back 2k of my days losses at 3-6. I ran really bad yesterday so I'm happy with how yesterday went money wise only losing 1k. I have been splitting my time playing cash about equally between 2-4 and 3-6 the last week. I really like playing different levels at the same time as it just allows me to table select so much better. I think it is much more profitable playing an assortment of tables at both levels rather than 8 tables of 3-6. Reason being is that there usually aren't more than 3 or 4 really soft 3-6 tables at a time. My EV (expectation) playing the softest 2-4 tables is much better than my EV playing an average 3-6 table.

I actually just got done playing a session today and I saved some hands to share with you. I ended up winning two bi's at 3-6 and one bi at 2-4.

I have been having a little trouble with Lyric this last week as he is one of the better regulars in my games and I have been playing against him a lot lately. The problem is that I have been running ice cold against him and he is running me over. He has been playing way to aggressive in general but especially in 3bet pots against me. So basically this hand was the first time all week I flopped a pair in a 3bet pot against him... http://www.pokerhand.org/?1996539

This hand was played funny and I'm not really sure what to think... let me know what you think of this hand. The guy sat like two orbits earlier and I had no read... http://www.pokerhand.org/?1996665

I almost felt bad about this hand. Not. http://www.pokerhand.org/?1996690

School went well this week... and I got a puppy with my roommates.

Emo Grinding

Played again for most of the day yesterday. I started my session at the beginning of the stars sunday million. I ended up going deep... which sucks lol. I guess it forced me to play 4k hands of cash during the course of the tournament. I took like 180th out of 7,500 people cashing for like $1400. I lost a 700,000 coin flip to become one of the chipleaders with KQ all in preflop against 99 and 10. First place paid over 200k so I was disappointed after I busted out. I know my day will come when I run hot late in these to take one down. After winning like 2k in the cash games yesterday it pulled me to about even since the last time I posted like 3 days ago. Hopefully I can take yesterdays success and turn that into a nice prolonged heater. The 100 rebuy on stars started a few minutes ago so I'm going to rap this post up and start playing. Maybe I will even save a few hands for you guys to see.
